Ragdoll cat characteristics and behaviors

Ragdolls bond deeply with their families and shower them with affection. They love snuggling and being pet.

Affectionate 

These sweet-tempered cats rarely hiss or scratch. They tend to go limp when picked up.

Docile

Weighing 15-25 lbs at maturity, Ragdolls are very large cats. Yet they are all muscle and not fat.  

Large Size

Most have a distinct pointed pattern in various colors over a white base. Their noses, ears, legs, and tails are darker

Pointed Pattern

Despite their size, Ragdolls stay playful and kitten-like. They eagerly chase toys and play fetch.

Love to Play

First bred in Riverside, California in the 1960s, Ragdolls combine Siamese and longhaired breeds.  

Origin 

With proper introductions, these patient, gentle cats do very well with respectful children.
